CELLAR DOOR
The vineyard, of about 8 hectares, is inserted in the territory of the DOC Colli del Trasimeno, an area particularly suited to wine production since the time of the Etruscans, also due to the favorable microclimate of the lake.
The farm has been run since 1961 by Margret Etten Cantarelli and now by Sabina, her daughter, who carries on with Pier a job that has always fascinated the whole family.
But above all we have a good team of close-knit and motivated people who we try to employ throughout the year so as not to resort to external teams.
The small but very welcoming cellar is always open to those who want to know and taste the wines (MON -SAT 9-12.30 15-19).
We organize, by reservation, tastings guided by Sofia, Tiziana or Sabina for small groups: they include a visit to the vineyard, the production site and the tasting of all our wines and oil.

THE VINEYARD
We pay great attention to the environment in which we operate, through organic farming and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
We only vinify grapes from our vineyards.
The vineyards are arranged in a “single body”, i.e. contiguous to each other, and are located all around the house and cellars.
The training system is traditional espalier, “guyot” or “spurred cordon” pruning depending on the variety. The yields per hectare are around 50/60 quintals.
The thinning of the bunches is carried out with the aim of reducing the yield per vine and rebalancing the vegetative and productive development.
The grassing of the inter-rows as soil management, increasingly widespread today, has always been carried out in Montemelino, with the aim of reducing erosion but, above all, of creating a more natural microclimate.
The under-row is processed, following the principles of organic farming.
Our grapes are harvested by hand and so is the tying and pruning.
